Love and Repentance.

loverepentIn my last blog “Knowing God” I said that there is no sin so we don’t have to repent to be saved. Liz kindly commented on this with her view and it prompted me to look at it again. Hence the reason for this blog. I want to talk about Gods love so that you can understand where I am coming from. I also want to look at repentance and why we feel we have to do it. Liz also mentions that she doesn’t think we can know God in the way that I say. I will have a look at this as well.

Love.

God is love. 1 John 4:18.

What is love?

1 Corinthians 13:4-8, Love suffers long, and is kind; love envies not; love vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not his own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;  Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;  Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.(UKJV)

Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strifes: but love covers all sins.(UKJV)

1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent love among yourselves: for love shall cover the multitude of sins. (UKJV).

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, (UKJV).

Romans 5:8 But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (UKJV)

John 15:13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (UKJV)

I could go on. God is love. If He is love, which I believe He is then He would have no problem with sin. As I have said before. Jesus died with God and Holy Spirit in Him not for Gods sake but for ours. God’s love is so much more than we realise. I don’t think we will really understand Him until we see Him face to face.

Half way through my studies I was struggling with the wrathful God image that the bible portrayed. Holy Spirit said to me let love be your plumb line. A plumb line is used in construction to make sure the building is true. What ever I read about God, if it didn’t fit with love then I assumed it was not right. Later I was thinking about grace and mercy. These two things are dependant on someone deciding if you are worthy of grace and mercy. Have you been good enough? Is there a sin, which might take me out of Gods grace or mercy?

While I was praying I had a vision. I saw two candles one was grace the other was mercy. There light was dim. Then from behind came the blinding light of love. It consumed grace and mercy. I think what God was trying to show me was love is so much more than grace and mercy. It doesn’t matter who we are or what we have done. Love covers all. God loves all His creation and wants us to fellowship with Him. But we let things get in the way. Through Jesus God has taken away all that would stand in the way of us being with Him and knowing Him. From Gods side it is all done. We just have to know it and believe it and come boldly to His throne.

Do you need to repent to be saved?

No. Is my answer. I believe that everyone is already saved. It is that we are choosing to know God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. That we want a relationship with them. Repenting to be saved means that you change your mind to be saved. You decide to turn from your wicked ways and then you will be saved. That’s not what Paul tells us. Acts 16:31

Acts 16:30-31 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved, and your house. (UKJV)

But what happens if I don’t believe?

John 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. (UKJV).

Jesus saves everyone. Anyone who doesn’t believe in the good news is left in darkness but that doesn’t mean they will go to hell. (Check out my hell blog).

I believe that when you encounter the love of Jesus then you choose to turn from your ways and embrace His. It is a gift from God that we are saved. God loves us and has done everything for us. All we have to do is want to know them. You change after you have met them not before. It is not by our works that we are saved. We don’t even need to believe and we are saved.

Do I need to repent of my sin daily?

This one confused me a bit. My understanding is all sin was cleansed from Jesus on the cross. The Law makes sin known to me. Romans 7:7. But even the law is no more. Luke 16:16. Being a gentile I was not even under the law in the first place. Confused? From Gods point of view there is no sin. All sin has been cleansed. But from our point of view we sin daily. John tells us to confess our sins and repent. But Martin Luther was stuck in that loop for a time and annoyed those around him. The truth is sin is forgiven, cleansed, wiped away, sent away. But the enemy still entraps us and convinces us to do it. The sin is still there and the way out is there also. Jesus will help you to be free from sin.

I have been listening to Hannah Whitall Smith. She was a lay speaker and author in the Holiness movement. She struggled with the constant problem of daily sin. But she found that giving the sin over to Jesus right when it started helped her to overcome it. I have been trying this my self and it has been working. I think we need to have more faith in Jesus and realise that He has done a lot more for us than we know. We need to abide in Him.

In answer to this question I think we need Jesus to help us change our mind. But if we do sin then there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Romans 8:1. Paul tells us to walk in the spirit and Jesus says we need to take our cross daily. Luke 9:23. We are in a battle but God has given us what we need to fight it. 2 Peter 1:3.

As we walk in the spirit we will be changed into Jesus’ likeness. Holy Spirit is changing us all the time. Holy Spirit does the work. We will get to a point where sin will no longer be a reality in our lives. Titus 3:5-6, 2 Corinthians 3:18. It is an on going process. If we let Holy Spirit do His work then we will get there sooner.

I have found this hard because when I sin I feel that I need to say sorry for what I have done. I know that sin is covered, cleansed etc. but I still feel bad for doing it. What I have come to understand is God doesn’t have a problem with my sin because He doesn’t see my sin. I am the one that needs to realise this and not worry about it. Satan is trying to separate us from God and he uses guilt, shame and sin to do this. It is the only power that he has left. Oh and sickness. I still say sorry to God. If I were to do something wrong against a friend then I would go and say sorry. I don’t think that God requires it but I think He understands our need to do it. Love prompts us to say sorry to a friend. God I believe wants to be our friend to.

I can sin then?

Love is the reason. Jesus tells us to love our enemy, Him, Neighbour, each other, God and self. John 15:12, Matthew 5:44, Mark 12:31, Matthew 22:37. He commands it. As I showed earlier love does no harm or envy etc. That includes our self’s. If I sin then that sin depending on what it is might only affect me. But does it? If I am frustrated with this sin then I might get angry and snap at my family or friends. It could cause me to be angry with a stranger. Love does none of these things.

Ok sin is cleansed, wiped out, sent away but it doesn’t mean you can carry on doing it. Paul tells us this in Romans 6:1. Paul continues to say that we have died to sin and we are no longer slaves to it. We need to by faith walk in the newness of life. But if we have a bad day, don’t become condemned. Just get back up and carry on.

Jesus knew the effects that continuous sin could have. When dealing with the adulterous women and the guy by the pool. He told them to go and sin no more. John 5:14, 8:11. He knows that if you continue in your sin then it can enslave you and depending on the sin could lead to death. Jesus doesn’t wont us to be harmed. He helps us and guides us with Holy Spirit so we can live an abundant and joyful life.

Knowing God.

My last blog was all about this. After reading Liz’s comment I felt that I needed to explain a bit more where I am coming from.

What the bible says.

Jesus in John 17:5 tells us that eternal life is about knowing Them. There are other places in the bible, which tells us the same thing. The know here is as a friend or even as a husband or wife but with out the sex part. Jesus said that if we keep His commandment (to love) and we love Him, then He will manifest Himself to us. The Father will also love us. John 14:21. He also says that He and His Father will make their home with us. Verse 23. Holy Spirit is our Helper also.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (UKJV).

Lets have a look at that word.

Blue letter Bible website says:

Helper – parakletos – G3875.

Comforter, advocate, called to ones side, helper, assistant.

The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness and searches our hearts. Romans 8:26,27.

This is quite an intimate thing to have your heart searched. You wouldn’t let a stranger search your heart? These all point to being known by God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. If God is love then why do we not like the fact? The bible clearly shows us that they want to know us. Why do we not let them?

My experience.

Ever since I was little I have always believed in God. I have always had a desire to know and see them. When I was 18 a friend of mine taught me how to play the guitar. I then began to worship with that guitar. It opened a whole new world to me, which I never knew was there. It is even more so now that I worship in the spirit. I have had many encounters with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. All of them have been life changing. All of them I have felt their love. I have not seen them with my open eyes yet but my desire to know them is even more now than ever. I feel their love regularly. I can say from experience that they love me because it is something I have felt. I wish there was a way to show others. It saddens me that a lot of Christians do not experience God, Jesus and Holy Spirit in the way that I do. I don’t mean to brag. If I could give it to others then I would not hesitate.

This is why I say that they want this kind of relationship with everyone. All you have to do is rest in them. Ask them. God is with you right now. Just stop. Close your eyes and say papa. I am here. You might be amazed by what you experience. I have heard some preachers say, “It is not all about feelings”. In some cases I would agree. There have been times when the only reason I have worshipped is to try and recreate the experience I had the day before. But that is wrong. We worship them not for what we can get but for what we can give. In other cases I don’t agree. Many times when I have worshipped with out selfish intent God has shown me His love in many different ways. For example.

I had being worshipping for about 30 minutes when I became aware of God. It was like He was in the room with me. I didn’t feel scared or like I had to fall to my knees on the floor. I just felt His love. When I had finished I was overwhelmed with joy. When ever I began to think about God I began to laugh. This lasted for about half an hour. I just laughed and laughed and laughed. It was fantastic. God showed me that He loves me and that He wants me to laugh.

I could go on all day but I think I have made my point. There is not anyone special. God does not have His favourites. He loves us all the same but that love is bigger than we can ever imagine. All you have to do is give Him the time and He will show you the rest. I go into this more in my last blog. “Knowing God”.

Tell our Family.

I was listening to some Christian music when I had a revelation. We are all in the same family. I felt that all the strangers around the world where like my brother, sister, mother and father. It was amazing. Jesus says that we are His sheep and we know His voice. John 10:16. He also says that all are brethren. Matthew 23:8 There are many scriptures that tell us that all are saved/healed, made righteous, justified etc. John 3:17, 12:47, Romans 5:18,19, Jesus died on the cross for all not just for those who believe. Through all my blog’s I have talked about this. Every one is a Child of God and part of His family but they don’t know it. It is our job to tell them. It is our job to heal them and help them, to get them out of darkness into the light. We should be out there telling everyone what they have in Jesus and tell them that God wants to know them. Why do we have such a problem with this?

Before satan messed things up Gods plan was to have a huge family who He would fellowship with. But because of what happened that plan was put on hold. Jesus came to un pause that plan. Gods plan never changed. We are all made by Him and return to Him. Ecclesiastes 12:7. We where all created for and by Jesus. Colossians 1:16.

When Jesus came to earth He was on a mission from His Father. He healed, set captives free and fellowshipped with us. He said that as you have seen Him you have seen the Father. John 14:9. He didn’t have a problem with sinners in fact He made them His disciples. He commanded us to do what He has done. He told us to go and heal the world like He was doing and to set the captives free. How will they know unless they are told? If you have a brother, sister, father or mother who doesn’t believe don’t you want to and try to tell them? We need to do this for everyone. We need to show the world Gods love and change their idea that God is wrathful and that being a Christian involves lots of rules etc..

This is why I write these blog’s. God has shown me so many things I cant keep them to my self. If my blog’s can help or free just one person then it is worth all the time I spend and I would do it all again in a second.

I hope this will help you all and Liz thanks for your comment. I did put the last blog out with haste. But this is why I leave the comments open. My aim is to help others Christian or not to know God, Jesus and Holy Spirit better. I hope that this is what I get across. God Bless.

Knowing God.

Image3.jpg

In my last blog I talked about eternal life being about knowing God and Jesus and Holy Spirit. I thought I would share with you how I do that myself. I write this to Christians but also to every one else. The only thing you need to help you with this is the gift of tongues or speaking/praying in the spirit. It’s also good to ask Holy Spirit for help. I will go through how you receive this gift first before I share the rest.

One thing I will mention before I continue. In my other blog’s I have used a lot of scripture to back up what I have been saying. This how ever is a lot different as it is more about doing it than reading about it. I will use a few scriptures but I am mainly going on my own experience. I felt to share this with you so you could know God, Jesus and Holy Spirit in the way that I do. I am still getting to know them but it is a wonderful thing to feel their love. Do you need to be a Christian to do this? To be honest I don’t even know what a true Christian is anymore. I don’t even see myself as being one. If you love God and want to know Him and Jesus and Holy Spirit better then I think that is all you need.

I know there will be people who don’t agree with what I have to say. I understand that and respect your views. I would hope you would do the same for me. Love is the core here. I want every one to know God, Jesus and Holy Spirit’s love as I do and more. If I am teaching wrong things then I will have to answer for that when I meet them in the end. My intention is to bring people closer to God so I can’t see how that can be wrong.

The Gift of Tongues.

If you have never been to church and are not a Christian you might not know what I am talking about. Near the start of the book of acts in the bible, the disciple’s receive Holy Spirit before they start their ministry. Jesus was also baptized and received Holy Spirit before He started His ministry. Matthew 3:16. Lets have a look at what Acts has to say.

Acts 2:1-6 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like of fire, and it sat upon each of them And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. (UKJV)

It is worth reading on but this will do for what I want to look at. When you speak in tongues it doesn’t mean you will be speaking another earthly language. Tongues is God’s language not of the earth. Sometimes God uses tongues to speak to people in their on language.

God is God but He is also Jesus and Holy Spirit. The trinity. I don’t know how it works but it just does. That’s what I believe. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Jesus. In Joel 2:28 we are told that God will pour out His spirit on all flesh. I believe God did that on the cross. When Jesus died and came back the Spirit was given. Peter confirms Joel 2:28 in acts 2:17,18,33. I believe that all have the Spirit either with them or in them right now and it’s been like that since Jesus died. The fact that you are reading this shows that Holy Spirit brought you here. I also believe that all are saved and born again. All sins are cleansed. There is NO SIN. All sickness is healed. You don’t have to repent to become a Christian. It is already done. Like I have already said in my other blog’s all you have to do is choose to know them. (Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit).

I thought I would share two scriptures, which help support, my theory on every one being saved, healed, reborn, sin cleansed etc.

Romans 3:22-23 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference. For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (UKJV)

1 Timothy 4:10-11 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. These things command and teach. (UKJV)

Very interesting. In Romans 3 its by Jesus’ faith that all are righteousness. Not ours. Not a choice we make. Jesus has done it for us. The 1 timothy 4 is even better as Jesus is the saviour of all men. The NKJV says especially. But look what Paul commands us to do. We are to command and teach these things. I have so many scriptures, which are similar to these. I would run out of space. Just thought I would share.

What is this tongues/spirit thing all about? Again this is a study all in its self. I will try to explain. Holy Spirit was sent to us so He could teach us and show us who God is and what we need to do to know Him and to show us the truth. Tongues is a language that only the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit know. I include Jesus because I assume He does understand it. There is no scriptural basis for this. It’s just what I have come to understand.

This language is a gift. Jesus told us to baptise in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19. Baptise is to immerse, overwhelm, submerge. I don’t truly understand it but I know it works. The language of tongues is used in many ways, which we will look at later.

How do I get this gift?

Being that you are already saved all you need to do is ask. I will also pray that you receive the gift of Tongues.

I baptise you in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Father I ask in your Sons name that you will give the reader of this blog the gift of tongues. I ask Holy Spirit that you would fill them up and release this gift to them. Open their eyes to your truth and show them your love.

Now receive the gift. Let Holy Spirit rise up from your belly and just begin to speak. You will begin to make funny sounds, which can sound like a baby talking. Don’t worry just keep trying. Holy Spirit will help you. If you are not sure then there are videos on you tube of people speaking in tongues.

If you don’t want to do this that’s fine. I have found that since I have been doing the things I am about to share with you my knowledge and experience of Gods love has grown in a huge way. But don’t feel like you have to do it. I leave this up to you.

Study.

I have found that this is a good way to find out more about God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. But you do need help. In my other blog’s I have explained about the stories in the Old Testament. It is hard to find a God of love in the bible. Really it is only in the book of John that the Father is truly known. I find now that study has done what it need’s to and I am concentrating on the other things now. It is a good place to start. But let Holy Spirit guide you.

Talking in the Spirit.

This is not praying. What I do is I sit and I act like I am having a conversation with God. What I do is say “Father…..then I speak in tongues. I speak to them like I would speak to a new friend but in tongues. It is strange at first but it is worth doing. I do speak to Jesus and Holy Spirit in this way as well. When I first started I didn’t know whether I should talk to Jesus and Holy Spirit like this, but as time has gone on I have found it is worth doing. If you are a Christian then it will seam weird but I would say go with it. If in doubt then ask Holy Spirit and He will help you.

Praying in the Spirit.

I just pray in tongues. When I do this I find if there is anything, which needs to be dealt with in my own life then that’s when Holy Spirit does it. I have had many visions when doing this. Sometimes I will listen to some music with out lyrics like classical music while I am doing this. I have had some amazing times doing this. I have meant God in a big why in these times.

Worship in the spirit.

This is huge for me. When I was younger I was a worship leader in my church. We would sing a lot in English but not much in the spirit. When I started my journey 3 and half years ago I would sing in English then a little in tongues. As I continued I found there was so much more freedom when singing in tongues than there was in English. Now I only worship in tongues. I have had many encounters with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit in these times. It is the most amazing thing for me and I wish that churches did it more.

Jesus tells us in John 4:23,24 that a true worshipper of God will worship in spirit and truth. Oh and the truth in that scripture is not hymns or English songs. It is the truth of God. I only say English because that is my language.

I have found that worshipping in tongues for other people has helped in their healing. Just thought I would add that. When doing this I also split my time up singing to each of the trinity. When I first started to worship Holy Spirit alarm bells went off because I didn’t know whether it was right. Now how ever I do it out of love for Him. He is just as much God as God is. Holy Spirit has been left out for far to long. But that’s just me. Try it.

Talking to Them.

I love doing this. Every night before I go to bed I sit in my room with the door shut. I start with Father and I just talk to Him. I will tell Him about my day. What my concerns are and any problems I am having. It’s like when you meet up with a friend. You might go out for coffee or a meal. You talk about life. That’s what I do with them. I have found that I talk to each of them about different things. One thing I have found is I tend to thank them a lot and tell them how great and wonderful they are. I also talk to them about scriptures that I don’t understand. Most of the time I get insights into what I am having problems with. A lot of the things that I have written about have come from these times.

At the end of me talking I will sit and ask God, Jesus and Holy Spirit if they have any thing to say to me. This is hard to start with because there are lots of things that go through your mind when you try to listen. I have found that it’s the small quite voice that is them. Any thing that is kind, loving and compassionate is normally from them. Sometimes I will do this for a few minutes other times it has been longer. The idea is to give them some time to talk to you.

You don’t have to do this at night. You can do it at any time. I have found now that any spare time I get I am talking to them.

I hope this has helped. It has been quite a personal thing for me to share but I really want people to know who God really is. If this helps than that’s great. At the end of the day God wants to have a relationship with you. He wants to know you and for you to know Him. That’s why His Son gave His life for you. I have found that it’s like any new friendship. It takes time but it’s worth every minute.

I hope that this blesses you. God Bless.

The Ministry of Reconciliation Part 5.

Satan.

I have covered some of this subject in my hell blog. It might be worth a read. I think I will get a bit of background before we go onto what is meant to happen to satan.

We would think that the first mention of satan would be in Job or you could say the serpent in the garden in genesis. I would say other wise. Jesus says that He saw satan fall like lightening to the earth. Luke 10:18. If satan is the serpent in genesis 3 then that would put him on earth around the same time as the garden was finished. If we look at the beginning of creation there is a little hint at when satan and his angels might have been cast down to earth.

Genesis 1:2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (UKJV)

The heavens and the earth have just been formed. The earth is without form void and dark. Lets have a look at the words.

Blue letter bible website says:

Form-H8414- Tohuw.

Vain, confusion, wilderness, waste, empty place, primeval place, Place of chaos.

Void- H922- Bohuw.

Void, emptiness, waste, undistinguishable ruin.

Darkness- H2822- Choshek.

Darkness, obscurity, secret place, misery, sorrow, wickedness.

There are some interesting words used for what the earth was like before light was created. Genesis says the light came in the first day. We are not told how long the earth was void for. 2 Peter 3:8 tells us that a thousand years is a day and a day is a thousand years. The earth could have been void for at least a thousand years. With words like wilderness and place of chaos I don’t think its to hard to believe that satan and his angels where on the earth first. All that evil. It would be a place of chaos. May be that’s why he doesn’t seam to like us very much. Because we where given what he would see as his kingdom.

Satan and his angels are on the earth. Adam and Eve sin. Satan is in trouble like the others. There is no mention of satan receiving any kind of authority. We only Think he got it because when Jesus is tempted satan says that he has all authority which was given to him. Luke 4:6. Was it? Jesus never agreed with him that it had been. The Old Testament tells us that everything belongs to the lord. Deuteronomy 10:14, Psalm 89:11, Genesis 14:22, Exodus 9:29, psalm 24:1….. And the list goes on. God gave dominion over all the animals to Adam and Eve. God also told them to subdue the earth. Could it be that satan some how took what was given to Adam and Eve. Satan was never given it. Jesus never said that satan had the authority. But Jesus did call satan the ruler or prince of this world.

Jesus mentions this in 3 scriptures in John. John 12:31, 14:30 and 16:11. Lets have a look.

John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. (UKJV)

John 14:30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world comes, and has nothing in me. (UKJV)

John 16:11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. (UKJV)

Jesus does recognise satan as the prince or ruler of this world. Lets have a look at the word prince.

Blue letter bible website says:

Prince-G758- archon.

Ruler, prince, chief, magistrate, commander, leader.

He is called the prince of the devils in Matthew, Mark and Luke. Matthew 12:24, Mark 3:22, Luke 11:15.

Magistrate is an interesting word for him. Jesus says that he was a murderer from the beginning and is a liar. John 8:44.

Could it be that because of sin satan had become our ruler or our jailer. That could be why he thought he had all authority.

I think that is enough about satan. Lets see what happens to him.

I am only going to use John for this. I know there is more in the Old and New Testament but this study is already long. I have already shown you the scriptures about satan. He had nothing on Jesus. John 14:30, he is to be cast out. John 12:31. and he is to be judged. In Isaiah 14 it tells us that satan will end up with the kings of old. This suggests to me that the judge here could be separate to be refined. What? I hear you cry. I thought satan was going to the lake of fire. Satan was created good. Why wouldn’t he be refined? That’s what love would do. Philippians 2:9-11 tells us that every knee shall bow and tongues confess that Jesus Christ is lord. That would include satan and his angels. God does not destroy or kill or torment. God is love. Jesus taught us that. There is a scripture, which would go against this theory. Hebrews 2:16. (I could not find any others. Let me know if you know of any and I can take a look.)

The new king James says that Jesus does not give aid to angels. This would suggest that angels are not to be refined. Hence satan will be destroyed. Lets have a look.

Hebrews 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. (UKJV)

I have looked at a few versions and there is a few that agree with the new king James but most of them are similar to the UKJV. What is the context of this verse? If you look at the next verse it becomes clear.

Hebrews 2:17 Wherefore in all things it was essential for him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. (UKJV)

It is the nature of humans not angels that Jesus took hold of or became. That is what this verse is saying. Jesus didn’t become an angel to save us but a human. Not sure why the NKJV says it like this. Angels can be refined then.

I want to look into John 12:31. It has some interesting things about it.

John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. UKJV).

We know what judgement means and prince and world. Lets have a look at cast out.

Blue letter bible website says:

Cast- G1544- Ekballo.

Cast out, bring forth, pull out, send forth, drive out, to send out, be deprived of the power and influence he exercises in the world, to banish from a family, depart with haste, extract,

Out-G1854-exo.

Without, out of doors, forth, strange, away.

I think its save to say that satan has been booted out. Before I continue I would like to look at one more scripture.

Hebrews 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil. (UKJV)

The word I am interested in is destroy.

Blue letter bible website says:

Destroy-G2673-katargeo.

Do away, abolish, loose, fall, deliver, to render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative, to cause a person or thing to have no further efficiency. Separated from.

There is more but I think you get the point.

Satan and his angels have been made unemployed. They have no more power or authority. Jesus has the authority now. How is it then that there is still sickness, war, disasters, evil in the world. Satan is a liar. We are told to renew our minds. Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23. we are told that our struggles are not against the flesh but against the spiritual hosts and rulers of darkness. Ephesians 6:12.

We fight against the enemy. But how does he still have power? How has he ever had power? Though us. He got Adam and Eve to sin. He got Cain to kill Abel. He got Jesus’ own people to kill their messiah. He is the master of lies and manipulation. Just because he is unemployed doesn’t mean he can’t us our power against us. The power of the tongue is a mighty thing. It has the power of life and death. Proverbs 18:21.

I heard a story about a young boy who was being bullied. His bully told him every day to die. That’s what happened to the boy. He died. It is all around us everyday and we have become blind to it. James warns us of this power and how we should bridle it. James 1:26, 3:5,6,8. Be careful what you say.

I believe that satan convinces us to accept some sufferings. Like some sickness. We feel symptoms. We then talk to our friends and look on the Internet. We then go to a doctor who confirms what we have been thinking and saying. All the time the enemy is continuing to tell you that you are ill. How do we defeat it? Stop it before it starts. What about the symptoms?

Could it be that sickness is a lie? Is it that the enemy convinces us to accept it? We are bombarded all day long with adverts and news stories about sickness and what to do about them. I wonder if we stopped listening to the world about sickness and suffering and listen to God whether we would be healed.

Fear is a powerful weapon but love has conquered fear. Fear has been cast out. 1 John 4:17.

Hosea 4:6 says my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Isaiah 5:13 also says my people have gone into captivity because they have no knowledge. Is it this simple? Drugs give a quick fix but don’t fix the root of the problem. Are we being blinded?

Now I am not a doctor. I am not telling you to stop all your meds and trust for your healing. If you are ill and take drugs to help then keep taking them. Ask God for wisdom. Trust in Him. He will guide you. But don’t let the enemy have His way. We need to be careful and wise. Jesus tells us “Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves”.  Matthew 10:16. We have an enemy who wishes to devour us. Peter tells us to be vigilant. 1 Peter 5:8.

Satan knows all the tricks to get his way. He has been doing it for a very long time. We can overcome him. He is a defeated foe. Do not listen to fear but trust in the Lord for satans time is finished. He is not the ruler anymore. Its time we reminded him of that.

The Ministry of Reconciliation Part 2

The Cross.

This has been the hardest blog so far. So many things have happened to stop me from doing it. What I have found with these blog’s is, when I do them I get new insights into the subject and when I finish its like the understanding on that subject is cemented into me. I have struggled to find time to start this study. But what I have found out so far has been very interesting. It is a huge study. Probably worth its own series.

There are many Old Testament scriptures that mention Jesus and what He did on the cross. I am going to concentrate on Isaiah 53. I will also look at the New Testament for the account of what He went through.

First I want to go back to the beginning and see why Jesus did what He did.

What was life meant to be?

As we know God creates everything. Sticks man on the earth and make’s him a wife. They are happy walking around sharing their lives with their Father. God had given them food to eat and told them to fill the earth and subdue it and take dominion over the animals. Genesis 1. God provided everything for the couple. They had relationship with Him. They where not sick. They did not worry. They where not afraid. Everything was peaceful. There is nothing to say that they where not happy with life. In genesis 1 it says that God saw all He hade made and it was good. Sounds great to me.

What Happens Next?

Satan comes into play. There are many questions in this part of our story. For now I just want to look at what happened. Satan goes to Eve and convinces her to eat the fruit. She in turn goes to Adam and does the same to him. They are now aware of their nakedness and are afraid. What does God do?

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.  And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where are you? And he said, I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told you that you were naked? (UKJV)

God calls after Adam. God is looking for Adam. Like He does with us. Adam replies in fear. The next bit I found very interesting as I think I have talked about it in one of my other blog’s. Who told you? Adam was aware of his nakedness but why was He afraid? Because he thought God would kill him. But why does it say who told you? May be after the sin, satan then carried on telling them that they would get it and that the Father would wipe them out for being so bad. Like they do with us when we sin today. Satan did tell Eve to start with that she would not die. (I say they because I am talking about the fallen angels or demons as well as satan.)

The thing to see here is God doesn’t kill them but looks after them. If you look at my wrath series I have already covered some of this.

God then tells them what will happen next as far as their lives are concerned. They then leave the garden. One thing that interests me is Jesus doesn’t mention the garden. Why? Did God kick them out or did they leave because of guilt? What about the tree of life? Jesus says He is the way the truth and the life. John 14:6. Jesus says if you eat of Him you will live. Was Jesus setting the record straight? Is this why the Jews got so upset with Him when He said He was the bread? Things to think about.

God doesn’t seam to have a problem with sin. If you continue to read on about Cain and Abel again no problem with sin. I know there are scriptures that say He does but Jesus who is the embodiment of God, when He comes to earth whom does He spend most of His time with? Something to think about. With in the so-called curse we see God mention Jesus. Where is it I hear you cry? Lets have a look:

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel. (UKJV)

The last bit of this verse could be about Jesus. Jesus having His heal bruised and satan’s head being bruised. Also it mentions Eves seed not Adams. Could this be in reference to Mary?

What does this mean?

Some how we have come to believe that satan was handed all power and dominion because of this one act of sin. Some how satan is able to afflict humans with sickness and make them suffer. This is mentioned in the curse. Adam toiling and Eve suffering in childbirth. I don’t think for one moment that that is from God. I have looked and I have not be able to find anywhere in the Old Testament that says satan was given anything. In the gospels satan says to Jesus that all these kingdoms have been given to him. Luke 4:6. Had it been given or had he taken it. Remember he is a liar and a thief, a murderer from the beginning. John 8:4, 10:10. Satan was included like the others. God didn’t say Oh by the way Mr serpent here is all the kingdoms of the earth. Could it be through satans lies he manipulates man to do his bidding?

As we have seen man is afraid of God. God had to make it possible for us to come back to Him. It is in our heads that we fight the battles. God is always waiting for us and even is coming after us. All we need to do is turn.

What did Jesus do?

God now has a problem. Man is afraid of Him and is listening more to satan than God. Sin is clearly an issue for man. Sickness and suffering is also. Lastly what to do with satan? Jesus comes to earth and lives amongst us. He then gives His life so we could know Him and His Father. He showed that He and His Father where love and loved us. He also fulfils the law. All obstacles are removed. By our terms not His. Where did He begin?

In The Garden.

This is where Jesus had to make the choice. We know that it was already decided before the world was created that Jesus would do this but this was harder. Jesus would have had all the human feelings and emotions to deal with. His whole body would have been telling Him to get out of there but He didn’t. We read in Luke 22:44 that He sweated blood because of the stress. Three times He asked His Father to take the cup and three times He submits to His Fathers will. Matthew 26:39-44. He was completely in control. It was His choice whether He gave His life or not. John 10:17-18. He had the power to wipe them out. We see some of His power in John 18:6.

John 18:6 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground. (UKJV).

Also when Peter cuts off the servants ear. Jesus could have reacted with violence but he didn’t. He even tells them what He could do.

Matthew 26:51-54 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and stroke off his ear. Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again your sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Think you that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be? (UKJV)

It was in the garden that the first battle was won. Jesus knew what He had to do and He did it. He was in complete control.

The Beating and Barabbas.

The accounts of this are different in the 4 gospels. One thing I thought strange is the Beating is not in Luke. I am going to look at John’s version. Jesus goes before the priests first. They then take Him to Pilate. Pilate talks to Jesus and doesn’t find anything to warrant punishment. But the Jews want blood. Pilate trying to free Jesus mentions the custom of freeing a prisoner because of the Passover. The crowd ask for Barabbas who was a criminal. Pilate then has Jesus scourged. I believe that Pilate thought if the crowd saw Jesus all bloody and beaten that they might have mercy on Him and let Him go. But it didn’t turn out that way. Before I continue I want to look at two things.

1st. Barabbas was the first person that Jesus gave His life for. Jesus took Barabbas’s place.

The people decided to free Barabbas instead of Jesus. Jesus took his place. The gospels give different accounts of his crimes. John 18:40 a robber. Matthew 27:16. Notorious. Mark 15:7, Luke 23:19 murder.  I think its safe to say he was headed for his own cross. Even before the cross Jesus the innocent takes a sinners place.

2nd. In the second conversation with Pilate, Jesus again shows His control when He says this:

John  19:10 Then says Pilate unto him, Speak you not unto me? know you not that I have power to crucify you, and have power to release you? Jesus answered, You could have no power at all against me, except it were given you from above. (UKJV)

Jesus knew to the end that He could do things His way if He wanted. But out of love He carried onto the end.

Why was Jesus Beaten?

I had always wondered why Jesus was beaten. I understood the spitting in the face and striking Him but why bring Him to the edge of death? When I went to bible school they went into detail about what was involved. For some idea you only have to watch the Passion to see what happened. I think that was a nice version compared to what really happened. So Why?

I looked in the Old Testament for some answers. I knew that Jesus took all our sins on the cross but why the beating. I knew about the Isaiah 53 scripture by His wounds we are healed. But was there anything else. That’s when I found this:

Psalms 89:30-32 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments, If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. (UKJV)

This is clear. If you sin God will punish you with stripes. It was God then that beat up and nearly killed Jesus. NO.

In the last year of my studies and walk with God what I have found is that God is love. He would never hurt or beat anyone. Let alone His own Son. When you study the Old Testament what you find is they believed that satan was a enforcer of Gods will and righteousness. But as time went on they began to realise that satan was Gods enemy not His employee. Jesus when He came was trying to show them that. God is love, He is light, and He is truth. He cannot be or do bad in any way. That includes telling someone else to do it for Him.

What does that mean for this scripture? What does this scripture tell us? If we don’t do what God wants then we will be beaten. Priests or prophets to keep people under control could use this. Because the people would fear punishment even to death if they sin.

Isaiah 53 sums it up for us.

Isaiah 53:4,5.

53:4 Surely he has borne our sicknesses, and carried our pains: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (UKJV)

The Septuagint version is worth a look. I am not sure if I can show it for copyright reasons. The smitten of God isn’t in it.

What I have found is that satan and man are the cause of punishment and wrath in the bible not God. It was man who beat Jesus not God. It was also man who killed Him. Jesus took on the violence of man and satan so we could have a relationship with Him and His Father. Jesus was beaten to heal us but also to take the beating for our sin.

Singing in The Spirit / Tongues

img_5351When I was a worship leader I would always try to leave time for singing in the spirit. Most of the time it would be towards the end and only for a short time. Now I do it all the time. When I have my private time of worship I only worship in spirit. It has changed my life in a big way. I find I can sing to Father will all my heart and have nothing get in the way.

I have recently upload some video’s to YouTube. They are videos of me and my family worshipping Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. We try to do it as often as possible. The reason I uploaded these videos is to try to encourage others and let Father speak and heal. It has been a real blessing for us when we do this. worshipping in the spirit does make a difference. I would recommend it.

I will put a link to the videos here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CvhJQ9BRGY

What we have found is most of the time we hear other voices and instruments when we do this. It is quite amazing. In these two videos there are two female singers and two male singers. A bass and an acoustic guitar. We don’t sing together all the time. For most of the video I was the only male voice singing high, yet you can hear other voices. See what you can hear.

I hope this blesses you.

God Bless.
