The Ministry of Reconciliation Part 6.

The Authority?

Who has the authority? If satan has been sacked. Who got the authority? We have seen that satan never really had it in the first place. I suppose you could say he borrowed it. What about now? God gave Jesus the authority. John 5:27, 17:2. Jesus has it and gives it to us. Matthew 28:18, Luke 10:19.

John 17:2 tells us that Jesus has authority over all flesh. As we have seen satan no longer has the authority Jesus does. The ruler of this world has been cast out. We are now to bring in the kingdom. Heal the sick, cast out demons, cleanse the lepers, freely have we received freely we should give. Mark 16:17,18. We will do greater works. John 14:12. Lets have a look at John 14:12.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. (UKJV)

He that believes in me. The same works plus greater he will do. Not only will we do what Jesus did but greater also. What could we do that is greater than what Jesus did? What about the believe part? Lets have a look.

Blue letter Bible website says.

Believe- pisteuo-G4100.

Commit unto, commit ones trust, but in trust with, to think to be true, to trust in Jesus or God as able to aid either in obtaining or doing something.

Is it that we trust that Jesus will do what we ask? Is it that we need to believe that Jesus can do these things? Is it that we need to believe that Jesus is the Son of God?

The way I would put it is if we have a relationship with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit and are Jesus disciples then we will be able to do what He did and more. We need to tell the world about what Jesus did and who He and His Father is oh and don’t forget about Holy Spirit. Jesus said that His works wore as a witness to who He was. John 5:36, John 10:25. Is it the works, which confirm the truth that is being told, and showing the kingdom is at hand. Mark 16:20. Would it be that by the works we do that will show that we do Gods works and in them show who we are in God?

The Trinity of the cross.

This is how I was taught about the cross and the events surrounding it from the Trinities point of view.

Jesus with Holy Spirit in Him was scourged, crown of thorns etc.. Taken to the cross. Nailed to it and died. All the sin of the world was put in Him on the cross as well as all God’s wrath and punishment. Jesus paid His Father the price and died. Went down to hell and set the captives free. He is resurrected on the third day and then goes to be with His Father. Then He comes back to wipe out seven eighths of the world and only a few remain who miss eternal torment. That’s the quick version. What really happened? Lets have a look.

I have mentioned the beating before. The beating was for our healing. But it was also for our sin. Does this mean He had our sin when He was being beaten? If we look at Isaiah 53 it tells us that He took our sins upon Him self.

Isaiah 53:5,6. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (UKJV)

The Septuagint says that He bears our sins. Could it be that sin was put on Him when He was being beaten? Why have I said this? The reason is that the sin could have been placed on Jesus before He was put on the cross. Which means that God was still with Jesus when sin was in Him. I believe that God has never had a problem with sin. As we will see God was in Jesus through His entire ordeal. From the garden to the resurrection.  How do I know this? I felt Holy Spirit tell me but I know that will not be enough. I will look at some scriptures to show you how I support this.

Jesus said He and His Father are one. John 10:30, 17:11. He also says that His Father will never leave Him alone. John 8:16,29, 16:32. He also says that the Father is in Him. John 14:10, 17:21. We also know that Holy Spirit is in Him. John 1:32,33, Luke 4:14, Matthew 3:16. The trinity are together from the garden to the resurrection.

Paul confirms this in 2 Corinthians 5:18,19 and Ephesians 2:13-16.

2 Corinthians 5:18,19 And all things are of God, who has reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation. To know, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (UKJV)

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus all of you who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of partition between us;  Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; in order to make in himself of two one new man, so making peace;  And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: (UKJV)

God the Father was in Jesus when sin was. He was in Jesus when Jesus was on the cross. I also believe that the Father experienced all that Jesus went through. It is a bold statement. But Jesus said He was not alone. OK for arguments sake lets say I am wrong. Lets say that all that I have shown you is just I using the scriptures to show you what I want. Well here is another side to it.

There is not one scripture anywhere that says that Holy Spirit left Jesus at any time. In order for Jesus to do the work He did and be a model for us He had to have Holy Spirit in Him. If Holy Spirit was in Jesus and never left Him that means that God was in Him and never left. Holy Spirit is the spirit of the Father. Romans 8:9. This means that Gods spirit was in Jesus through it all. God felt every whip, ever slap, every punch. He was spat on. Laughed at. Beaten. Then nailed to the cross. God was right there with His Son and Spirit going through it all. So when you watch any Jesus film it’s not just Jesus on His own going through it all. It’s all of Them. What about in the Old Testament all the scriptures that say God cannot look upon sin?

Jesus answers this.

John 17:25 O righteous Father, the world has not known you: but I have known you, and these have known that you have sent me. (UKJV)

This is just one of the many scriptures where Jesus says that up until that point no one had know the Father. He is even so bold to say that the devil is the Father of the Jews. Jesus said it not me. John 8:44.

But what about when Jesus cries out “my God, my God why have you forsaken me?” Matthew 27:46. Oh. That’s right. Well that’s it then. Better stop now…..

Jesus not being able to breathe much or talk very well had to choose His words carefully. This phrase is actually from a psalm, which the Jews would have known. This is a quote from psalm 22. If you read the psalm there is a lot about Jesus in it.

This is the verse that interested me:

Psalm 22:21 Save me from the lion’s mouth: for you have heard me from the horns of the unicorns. For he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither has he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard. (UKJV)

Jesus was trying to let the Jews know that He was not alone. It would be like Jesus saying to us today “the Lord is my shepherd”. We would understand that He was quoting Psalm 23. This is a model for us. Even when Jesus had the sin of the whole world in Him God was right there with Him. As we know God cleansed Jesus of our sin. There was no payment required. This shows us that no matter what we do God is always there for all His creation. Just waiting for us to know Him. Jesus has removed all Obstacles so we can know Them. Here is one more scripture. It is interesting. I only noticed it recently.

John 17:5 And now, Father, let me have glory with you, even that glory which I had with you before the world was. (BBE)

The NKJV says together with yourself. Jesus is asking the Father to glorify Him with His Father. Both together. This also supports the theory that God was with His Son on the Cross.

The Veil.

I feel that this is a good place to talk about the veil. I have already spoken about it being torn but why was it? The veil was meant to protect man from God. So they wouldn’t die and only the priests where aloud to see or be with God. The veil being torn was God showing us that He is available for all and that we are His temple. Paul tells us about this in 1 Corinthians 3:16,17, 6:19. God wants all His creation back. Colossians 1:20.

Jesus did it for all.

This could have a study be its self. There is a lot of scriptures which tell us that all will be saved. I am only going to look at a few otherwise I might as well turn this into a book.

All are righteous, all are healed, all are saved, and all have His spirit. This is what I am going to look into.

All are righteous.

Romans 5:17-19. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.  For as by one man’s disobedience all were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall all be made righteous. (UKJV. Edited by me)

I have changed the many to all. In my studies about this you need to look at the context. Why would Paul say all to start with then change it to many for the second part. Look into it for yourselves. This is just my thoughts. Its not gospel.

All be made righteous. That includes the wicked. Every one has been made righteous by God through Jesus.

All healed/Saved.

This is an interesting one. A lot of Christians say “when did you get saved?” they will then tell you their testimony. But as we will see everyone was saved 2000 years ago. When Jesus died on the cross. I am going to look at the translation of the word saved to show you why I have put healed with saved. I also have mentioned this earlier.

We shall look at John 3:17.

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (UKJV)

Lets have a look at what the word saved means:

Blue letter bible website says:

Saved- sozo- G4982.

Make whole, heal, be whole. Keep safe and sound, To rescue from danger or destruction. Save from injury or peril. Deliver or protect.

The might in this verse I believe may have been added latter. When I have looked at other translations its not there. We only have to look at what Jesus says in John 12:47.

Even if you don’t believe He still is going to save you. Jesus makes us whole and heals us. All of us. I recently found an interesting scripture:

1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, (UKJV)

Do you see it? Peter is telling us that we are born again at the cross. Begotten can translate as born again. If you join that with all are saved does this mean that all are born again? Does look that way. It is the resurrection that makes us born again not a choice we make.

Jesus heals us when He was beaten (Isaiah 53 by His stripes) and He also heals us when He was crucified. Jesus covered all the bases.

All have His spirit.

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: (UKJV)

God has poured out His spirit on all flesh. The bible tells us that all come from God. John 1:4, 1 Corinthians 11:12 and return to Him. Ecclesiastes 12:7. Joel tells us that God is going to pour out His spirit on all Flesh. The way that this scripture reads it sounds like its after Jesus dies. The big difference between us and Adam and Eve is we have the Holy Spirit in us. Is He in everyone? I think so. Jesus says that He will draw all peoples to Him self. John 12:32. How will He be able to do that? If Holy Spirit is in us then He will be able to do it. The translation for draw is drag off.

All flesh? What does that mean? Lets have a look.

Blue letter Bible website says:

Flesh, body, kin, mankind, skin, of humans, of animals, all living things.

That’s all flesh. I have seen videos on you tube of animals looking after each other. Also animals taking care of humans. I believe that Holy Spirit is in everyone and every animal. Its whether we choose to listen to Him or not.

It would seam that Jesus has done it all to all. I believe He has not only restored us back to how it should have been in the garden but He has made things better. No longer do we have to be afraid of God. He is our Papa and He, Jesus and Holy Spirit are waiting for us to want to know them.
